Common ground, cooperation, and recipient design in human-computer interactions

چکیده

In recent years, the number of human-machine interactions has increased considerably. Additionally, we have evidence linguistic differences between and human–human conversations (e.g., Timpe-Laughlin et al., 2022). Therefore, it is reasonable to revisit theoretical frameworks that conceptualize interactional language use investigate what extent they still apply technology-mediated interactions. As a first attempt at exploring whether pragmatics theories interaction, examined how well Kecskés's (2013) socio-cognitive approach (SCA) focusing on asymmetric interlocutors different backgrounds) applies asymmetry Using examples from experimental data, present nature common ground human machine (spoken dialogue system) interlocutors, construction reliance emergent side informed by actual situational experience. Like Kecskés, argue both egocentrism cooperation play role in interaction. While former manifested approaching interlocutor as if was human, latter appears seeking building recipient design. We demonstrate SCA fitting framework for analyzing communication contexts.

Computer-Supported Human Cooperation in Electronic Classrooms

Recently, there has been growing excitement over the use of electronic classrooms. This paper provides a carefully balanced view of the advantages of using various technological facilities to improve teaching and learning, while recognizing the continuing need for a human teacher who coordinates and controls the learning process. In particular, our view is that technology should not be intrusiv...

A Spiking Machine for Human-Computer Interactions (Design methodology)

The STANNs (Spatio-Temporal Artificial Neural Networks) are spiking neural networks. Coming from a bio-inspired data coding, they are adapted to process spatio-temporal patterns. Their capabilities have been studied for several years in the field of the natural HCIs (Human-Computer Interactions): handwritten character recognition, lipreading and speech recognition. Whereas one can observes a re...

Intersubjective meaning making: a common ground for Human- Computer Interaction and the Learning Sciences?

Recent experimental and design studies of collaborative learning mediated by tabletops has foregrounded equality of interaction at the verbal and the physical level, while intersubjective learning has been back-grounded. However, the embodied interaction analysis of video footage, from ten months of single-touch screen interaction among 8-9 year-old children presented here, shows that while the...
